Our Faculty Member Dr. Aykut Yıldız’s Project was Found Eligible for Funding by TUBITAK!
The project of Dr. Aykut Yildiz, a faculty member at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, titled “Modeling Opinion Dynamics in Social Media as Differential Games and Automated Detection of Trolls” was found eligible to receive support for 36 months under the TUBITAK 1001 program. The most important contribution of this project to the literature is the detection of trolls automatically and removing them from the social network. This methodology will be shared with the academy and industry via the project outputs. It is claimed that the project will have an immense impact since it suggests a solution to a crucial problem in social networks. It is supposed that the detection of trolls in social media based on a mathematical analysis is a highly novel approach. This project will be a milestone towards safer and cleaner social media. The work conducted in this project is rather valuable since it represents mathematical originality as well as practical significance.
